Judging by the ad’s name and the first seconds, we would have thought that the German model will be refueled by the plane at high speeds but this would not have been that interesting. Instead, the commercial suggests that it’s more likely you to need a refuel before the tank empties, mainly due to the improved fuel consumption of 32 mpg (7,3 liters/100 km).

That said, the new commercial isn’t half bad, it seems to conjure up both sides of the emotional and logical appeal of what a BMW should be, and what the F30 3 Series is.

The new commercial focuses on a place where performance, balance, agility and control. All of these important attributes are put to the upmost of test during the Olympics so it’s no surprise to see the company reference them.

If the Olympics puts these features to the test, the new F30 BMW 3 Series is where they get to be mixed together shown off.

Unlike all the places we’ve seen it or heard about it before, we finally get to see a proper price tag for it, one that’s tailored for the American market.

For all its goodness, efficiency and even performance, the F10 BMW 5 Series ActiveHybrid isn’t exactly what you’d call cheap. It will feature a MSRP of $61.845 (Destination and Handling charges included) and deliveries should start later in the spring.

Given the new sticker, this means each of the cars made into a hybrid will cost 8720 dollars on top of the standard F10 BMW 535i on which it’s based.

Getting back to the manual gearbox, the F10 M5 will feature a six speed unit which is supposed to be optimized for acceleration, flexibility and fuel economy.

Most likely, the automatic is still faster from 0 to 62 and probably a little bit more economic but honestly, do you really care?

When you have a 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 560 horsepower and the option to swap your own cogs do you care about that last .2 mpg?

Further accentuating the good news, the F10 BMW M5′s brand new manual gearbox will be offered to Americans as a no-cost option.

Kind of makes sense really. Although BMW tells us it is more troublesome to setup the engine to work with the manual, it is still a cheaper system than the M-DCT unit.

But it is not just the OEM-quality of the used components that ensures the exceptionally high quality, reliability and durability of the G-POWER products. A major contribution to it comes from our engineering process that meets to industry standards, starting with the CAD engineering, followed by the prototyping and ending with test drives on the Autobahn and in hot climate countries like Saudi Arabia.

A particular highlight of this engineering process is the use of the instrumentation of our technology partner AVL, by the way G-POWER being the only BMW tuner world wide to use this equipment. It measures the exact peak pressure that develops in the combustion chamber. With this information at hand the engineers were able to develop a custom-made software for the ECU, that keeps the peak pressure in the combustion chamber of a M3 power unite equipped with a G-POWER “Sporty Drive” supercharger system similar to the stock figures. So overstraining is not an issue.

Not only do they demand more from the very fast SUV, but they also plan to help it achieve the serious tasks they set for it.

The Vorsteiner aftermarket parts catalog now includes a new aerodynamic body kit offering that was specifically designed for the BMW X5 M.

This new kit consists of an add-on front spoiler, a vented hood and, at the back, we find a brand new rear diffuser. As you can see none of these mods are aimed at creating a lower drag coefficient.

BMW will continue their domination in diesel powerplants in Europe and Lexus, despite the bonus their parent company is getting out of this deal, will stick with in house designs.

Most importantly, the Lexus cars of the future that will have fuel economy as a main feat will rely on hybrid technology.

It does seem natural, and if you think it’s unfair, let’s remember that BMW will not be selling the hybrid models they get to develop in Europe.

Along side these designs which actually made it into production Chapman created countless concepts and sketches for the Bavarians.

He’ll now be relocated to Irvine, California where he’ll play out the role of chief designer for Hyundai USA. Not exactly a bad gig but we can’t help but feel he’s gone a couple of steps backwards.

For now, all we can do is be happy with the imaginative products of others, the first of which is served up by Ismet Cevik.

The Turkish industrial designer took the idea and went wild with it till he ended up publishing a nearly agreeable concept.

Ismet Cevik’s design is called the 8 Series Concept but it’s a long way from the uber-coupe we’re used to from Bavaria.

Actually, that part isn’t really true but the Vorsteiner F10 BMW 5 Series kit is actually worth the attention as everything meshes together great.

Before we get to the goods it’s pretty important to state that the Vorsteiner offering for the F10 BMW 5 Series only applies to the models that come with a factory M Tech package.

That said, the 5er gets a mix between the V-MS body kit offerings and their newly introduced sports exhaust system.
