Lumma Design of Germany has come out with some pretty radical creations over the past years such as the BMW M5 CLR 500 RS and the CLR X650 GT. This time, however, the German tuner decided to decided to take a more subtle approach to customization with its new Mercedes-Benz E-Class based, E50 CLR sports package. Surprisingly, Lumma’s bodykit looks like it could have come straight out from Merc’s factory.

Forget about huge fender flares and awkward looking spoilers. The -dare we say it- classy bodykit includes a new front apron with integrated daytime running lights (LEDs optional), unobtrusive side skirts, a roof spoiler attached on the rear windshield, a new rear bumper that houses the diffuser and a new Carbon/Kevlar trunk lid with an integrated lip spoiler.

Some of you may recall independent designer Emil Baddal from one of our previous posts where we showed you his concept proposals for BMW, Lamborghini and Ferrari supercar models. Now the Iranian designer has just published his latest work on yet another BMW concept sportscar that he calls 250tti. While we’re not fans of overcomplicated designs, the BMW 250tti has potential if Emil improves some details such as the oversized wheels/arches. BMW is enhancing its most popular model’s range with the introduction of the new 320d EfficientDynamics Edition that will be presented for the first time at next month’s 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. Based on the 320d, the EfficientDynamics Edition is claimed to be the most fuel-efficient and lowest-emission car in BMW’s current model range with a combined fuel consumption of 4.1 lt diesel/100km, which is equal to 57.4mpg US or 68.9 mpg UK, and a CO2 rating of 109g/km in the EU test cycle.

To be quite frank, the jury is still out on whether or not these photos showing an Audi R8 adorned with BMW badges are bona fide or fabricated by a cunning but nevertheless extremely talented photoshop manipulator. The rebadged Audi R8 with the Russian licenses features the Bavarian automaker’s logo up front, at the rear and on the engine cover. True or not, we’re pretty sure that these pictures can ignite an… interesting conversation between Audi and Bimmer fans.

The BMW Vision EfficientDynamics is a new “green” sports car concept that will be officially revealed in a few weeks time at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Until then, the Bavarian automaker is happy to tease us with this video that contains some driving footage of the concept without actually showing the car itself.

BMW seems more than eager to play the internet marketing game by constantly releasing new information and photos about its forthcoming X1 compact SAV. This time the Bavarian automaker has issued four teaser shots of the X1 depicting details of the front grille, the headlights and the taillights. Nothing to get excited about especially since there won’t be any significant styling changes over last year’s X1 pre-production X1 concept study.

The Germans at G-Power have released their first take on the second generation BMW Z4 E89 hardtop-roadster. The tuning firm’s performance package for the new Z4 includes a power kit for the sDrive 35i’s 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline six engine along with suspension and wheel/tire upgrades. We suspect that it won’t be long before G-Power unleashes a 400HP+ beast based on the Z4 but until then, let’s see in detail what the company has prepared for the German roadster starting off with the engine kit.

Have your heart set on a race-spec McLaren F1? Then you’ll be happy to know that the last F1 GTR to leave McLarens factory has turned up for sale in Japan. From a total production of 100 units, only a mere 28 were F1 GTR race cars built for private customers competing in the FIA GT series and the 24 Heures du Mans. This particular F1 GTR is allegedly the last model of the series with chassis number #28R.

It’s been three decades since BMW produced its first and last mid-engined supercar, the M1, and even though the Bavarian firm raised expectations with the introduction of the M1 Homage Concept at last year’s Concorso d’Eleganza, the company has no official plans to resurrect the famous nameplate. But for those that continue to hope that BMW will produce a thoroughbred sports car in the near future, South African designer Idres Noah has created a striking concept proposal for an Audi R8-rivaling bimmer.

BMW tuning specialist Hartge has launched a new assortment of aero add-ons and sport exhaust systems for the 1-Series. Available parts include a front lip spoiler, rear diffuser, side skirts, roof and boot lid spoilers, carbon casings for the exterior mirrors, inserts for the lower air vents, decals and the not so necessary, Hartge emblems. The tuner has also released two new sport exhaust systems with four tailpipes for the 125i and 135i models with the M Aerodynamic package.
